LASIK: Day 3

Much better today, only used artificial tear once.

LASIK: Day 2

Day 2 was much better, dryness is less and less, still the left eye is sharper than right eye. When driving at night, saw blurring headlights of cars from opposite road.

LASIK: Day 1

Day 1 after LASIK. Cindy (Beibei) had LASIK surgery by Dr. Scott Hyver (www.scotthyver.com) about two years ago. I forgot what was her prescription. She was very happy in last two years without glasses. I used to ease her that she was living in a blurring world because she only liked to use glasses for reading and computer. After witnessing her happiness without glasses, I decided to take the plunge.

Before new year, I made appointment with Dr. Hyver's office and had eye examination there. I was told that I was a good candidate. I didn't have too many questions because I saw Cindy's experience, and pretty much knew what I'd expect. Yesterday, I had surgery. The process was less than a minute, no pain, just felt strange when seeing lights on and off. After surgery, I actually can see things, walking by myself, eating, etc, but everything was blurring. The rest of day was sleeping and dropping antibiotic and anti-inflammatory. Artificial tears helped a lot too.

I felt slightly dryness in both eyes this morning. Then comparing both eyes's vision, I felt my left eye is a lot sharper than the right eye, both when looking far away and nearby, including reading. At 9:45am, I had eye check by Dr. Liang at Dr. Hyver's office. Examination shows that my both eyes exceed 2.0. I think the left eye is better. Also Dr. Liang told that it is normal that one eye is better than another on day 1 because both recover at different rate. I'd expect full recovery in 2 months.

I am glad I can sit back to computer to do some work today.
