有天去接亮亮，老师拉住我说别走，要告诉你个事。

Benjamin 叫另外一个 kid "shut up"（闭嘴），我告诉他这不好。Benjamin 说 “ Daddy told me this”。我顿时哭笑不得。在他胡闹的时候我这么对他说过。童言无欺啊。

胡言乱语

五月去夏威夷度假，在看秀时Benjamin突然嚷 “ fxck ”。贝贝和我大吃一惊，赶忙让他住嘴。过了几天我们才明白他说的是什么，原来Benjamin说的是 “frog”。

前天去Stanford的Cantor Center Museum，许多藏品是16，17世纪的欧洲油画。Benjamin突然嚷嚷“光屁股了，光屁股了”。原来有一巨幅油画的主题是人体艺术。

Careful when you buy a washer

Front loader washer looks pretty. We bought a LG TROMM washer and dryer based on recommandation of a salesperson from Best Buy. It worked greatly in the first 1.5 year.

Recently I found the garage smells moldy, I didn't figure out the reason for several months until yesterday. My wife found the washer has a lot of mold in its rubber ring. Gee, that smells really bad. So, I googled 'LG TROMM mold', it turns out it is a common problem of front loader washers. However, manufactories don't tell it to buyers. I saw someone had medical problems because the washer passes bacetari to clothes.

It seems like no good solution. According to some posts, you can use a cup of bleach and run the washer in Sanitary mode, once a week. Note, this cycle takes 1 hour 40 minutes and you have to waster electricity and water. And also never leave clothes in the washer for long time, and always open the washer door.

I am still waiting the 'Sanitary' cycle to complete, and now I feel itchy on my back. THINK before you buy a front-loader washer.

近况

工作特忙。

去夏威夷旅游了一周，很美，可是很累，拖家带口不容易。每天最发愁的是去哪里找米饭。在海里snogeling 看鱼是最好玩的了。

亮亮换到公司daycare了，还在适应中。公司daycare讲英文，亮亮一定很寂寞。老师说亮亮喜欢和黑头发的小孩一起玩，并且主动说中文。他大概假设黑头发的都讲中文，黄头发的都讲英文吧。

换车了，卖掉了Prius，买了Pilot。还在不时的怀念45mpg。

中美比较

回国有感：

在美国天天都是 subprime mortgage, Iraq war, election。最近 Eliot Spitzer 到是抢了不少版面。在中国两周，基本和美国的绝缘的，大家的生活很平静，每天说的最多的好像是哪里去吃饭。

国内同事 、同学的工作压力都挺大，人多竞争大。在美国工作相对要轻松，整体的力量可能更大吧。

闲说民众素质

前些日子code倒是吗了不少，文字没几个，大概是三分钟热心的表现。还好，还是热心青年。

今天暴雨加大风，照例是个交通非常的日子，但没想到坏到了如此地步。高速上积水，要小心的开车。途中两处路口红绿灯熄火，大家当作停牌用。尽管如此，回家只有比往常多了10多分钟。没有交通警察，没有志愿者在路口指挥，靠得都是驾车者自发的遵守交通规则，也许每个人都被一个路口堵了十分钟，可是交通一直是畅通无阻。让我感慨的就是当非常情况发生时民众的素质。如果一个国家的民众不能自发的处理好这种突发交通状况，民主大概是一种奢谈吧。
