Facebook

Facebook is hot, everyone talks about it. It was on magazine cover and court. Anyway, I decided to give it a try. My first attempt to register as a user failed because it timed out when submitting a request to its server.

I tried the second time today. This time I was able to type in information and submit the request. But I typed wrong email address. So I had to do it one more time. This time I typed in my first name only and it complains about the name is not legal. So I typed in my first name and the initial of my last name and it still complains. I used numbers as my last name and it also complains. So a name has to be two characters or more. Now it complains about my birthday because I selected 1915 as my birth year. Oh, you cannot be too old to join Facebook. Ok, I became young again and clicked on the submit button. But the return page shows 'connot connect to socket'. Failed again!

I started again, and fill in contents that should be, and tried to submit one more time. Finally it works. So friend, I am a Facebook member now. Search my name "Feng Qi".

DIY: Connect your iPod to an Acura TSX

We bought a TSX in 2004. It is a pretty decent car, its 4-cylinder 2.4-liter engine delivers 200 horsepower. Given its price tag less than 26,000$, it is a very good car. We just love it.

The only drawback is that it does not have an AUX port to connect popular iPod and other MP3 players. I can only play CD's. So I googled a little bit on the net, and found this link.

I have a non-nav model, adding an AUX port seems easy. So I ordered parts from SoundGate and bought a cable from BestBuy. I provide more picture to illustrate the installation process.

What looks like before and after installation.

After installation, the audio cable comes from the storage tray.

Pulling out the storage tray, be gentle.

The space is small, you may need to shift to 'N' gear. CAREFUL, don't let your vehicle slide away.

SoundGate AUX adapter.

On the top of storage tray, there is a light can be pushed into tray. Cable connecting to iPod can go through it.

Use a mirror to see the input connector on the top of inside. It is not clear in this picture, but it is obvious if you put a mirror there.

Cable is inside the storage tray after installation.

Total cost is about 120 US$, 100$ + taxes/shipping for SoundGate unit. 13$ for the cable. The sound quality is pretty good. Now I cannot wait to get an iPod touch.

Sigh!

Hollywood

Big surprise。
